The 12 players on the 12-under Cal Ripken All-Star team will travel to the World Series championship in Missouri with their coaches and families thanks to a $40,000 donation by Markley Group LLC.
The team, part of the Lowell Youth Baseball and Softball League, posted a come-from-behind 10-5 victory over Brookfield, Connecticut, in Dover, New Hampshire, on July 24, to capture the New England regional championship and punch their ticket the World Series championship tournament that starts Wednesday in Branson, Missouri.
