“Sports have always been about more than the game itself. They teach lessons that stay with you long after the final inning.

Baseball played a significant role in shaping who I am. I still remember my father telling me, ‘If you want to play baseball, that means practice. Field 300 ground balls a day.’ At the time, it felt like a challenge. Looking back, it was one of the greatest lessons he could have given me.

The countless hours of practice, the setbacks, the victories, and the defeats taught me that success doesn’t come from talent alone. It comes from preparation, perseverance, discipline, and being a teammate others can count on.

That’s why I always tell young people: Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. Show up, put in the work, and let your actions speak for themselves. Those lessons have stayed with me throughout my life and continue to guide me every day.”
